Robotics & Mechatronics
Build machines that sense, think, and move.
Learn to build and program machines that sense, think, and move. You wire electronics, write code, and make motors, sensors, and controllers work together as one machine.
What you can do when you finish
You leave able to build, program, and fix automated machines: a controller, a robot arm, a smart system. You bring electronics, mechanics, and code together into something that works.
The program
A step-by-step path to master level
About 18 to 24 months full time for master level. The core is about 9 to 12 months.
| Part | What it covers | Hours |
|---|---|---|
| Foundations | Safety, tools, measuring, reading diagrams, electrical basics | ~140 |
| Electronics | Circuits, components, soldering, sensors, power supplies | ~300 |
| Programming and control | Microcontrollers, PLCs, coding, logic and control | ~340 |
| Mechanics and motion | Motors, drives, gears, actuators, machined and printed parts | ~300 |
| Systems integration | Sensors plus control plus motion, robot arms, automation cells | ~320 |
| Advanced | Industrial automation, IoT, basic machine vision and AI | ~200 |
| The business | Building products, automation services, running a shop | ~80 |
| Total | About 1,700 hours |
Hours, class size, and calendar are draft, pending sign-off.
What you learn
The whole skill, part by part.
Foundations
Work safely, use tools and meters, and read a schematic. The base for everything that follows.
Electronics
Build and repair circuits, solder clean joints, and wire up sensors and power. The heart of the craft.
Programming and control
Program microcontrollers and PLCs, write control logic, and make a machine do exactly what you tell it.
Mechanics and motion
Motors, drives, gears, and actuators, plus the machined and 3D-printed parts that carry them.
Systems integration
Bring sensing, control, and motion together into a working robot arm or automation cell.
Advanced
Industrial automation, connected (IoT) systems, and a first taste of machine vision and AI.
The business
Turn skill into products and automation services, and run your own shop. This is the Create step.
What you earn
- The Skill Center Robotics & Mechatronics Master certificate. Your skills, signed off task by task.
- Aligned to recognized automation and mechatronics standards. Testing access in the region to be confirmed.
How it is taught
- You learn by doing, with real tools on real jobs.
- A task is done when you can do it right, safely, and on your own.
- You work on real jobs early, under a master, well before you finish.
- Your teachers are masters and Skill Missionaries who have done the work.
